The guidebook is a result of a collaborative work of several YAS members with diverse expertise and experiences. When we saw the guide developed by the young academy in the Netherlands, we felt that this is something we really wanted to do, say Ewa Machotka (researcher in Japanese art history, Stockholm University) and Philippe Tassin (physicist, Chalmers), two of the guide's authors. – Since we come from many different fields and universities in the country, and several of us have also had the experience of establishing ourselves as newcomers to the Swedish academic system, we have both insight and good qualifications. Two of the authors: Ewa Machotka and Phlippe Tassin.
